R & E (1992): Common in glaciated plains except on the southwestern edge (south of the Missouri R.) where it becomes uncommon. It is rare in the Osage Plains and becomes scarcer farther south in this region. In the Ozark border, south of the Missouri R., it is also rare. In the heart of the Ozarks it is only casually encountered.
