R & E: The G. Roadrunner slowly spread northward and eastward out of the cedar glade area of the state until the late 1970s, when the expansion was truncated by three consecutive severe winters (Norris and Elder 1982b). It remains most common in the glade area of the southern tier of counties in the southwest.
